Road to Heaven or Road to Hana ?

Road to Heaven or Road to Hana ?

We had two full days for Hana and like weekends we managed to waste it wisely.

After reading some blogs and reviews on google maps, we had a rough idea what are the good places to visit. Day 1 we started at the beach right across the street. Just laying your feet in the sand has a surreal feeling. Saw a couple of crabs and fishes. The

We started in the afternoon to Hana. The starting point took like 45 mins. Paia was the artistic town we planned to skip. It was similar to Lahaina or even Carmel in the Bay Area so nothing much to see. First stop was the twin falls.

Garden of Eden Arboretum

It is a nice pit stop to take a stroll. We reached late an hour before closing time. So it was empty so was like in walking in a personal garden. The views are mesmerizing and makes you still. It felt like a personal garden. If there was paradise this could closely qualify as the backyard. The ocean view puts you in deep thought. The distant waterfall gives you some important breaths of your life. Since we had only a few minutes, we were racing to leave footprints everywhere but also trying to pause and fill our minds with the beautiful memories.

The best part was fatefully saved for the last, Bird Feeding. It sounds lame when you think or talk about it. But the moment you pull out some quarters the birds gather around you. Peacocks, Ducks and some tiny birds too. They are watching you closely. It is scary and cute at the same time. Once you unload a load of bird feed they just pounce on it. It is like the party gets started they invite their friends too. Then you are stuck in the endless cycle of feeding the birds until you run out of quarters. Wish they had a quarter vending machine. It is heart breaking when it ends. The birds plead you for more. But you have say sorry and move on.

Twin Falls

This is a private property where they let you visit the stream which flows through them. It is literally a slippery slope. They have a store with tender coconut, some pineapple and small bites. It is a short walk to the falls. The falls are small but majestic. You can actually see the downstream for a distance, which is fun.

The heart breaking part is when someone gives you a manual for life when you have just 1 or 2 years left of your life.
